"The Ring"

The Ring

For those that haven't heard it I will tell you a story. A couple of weeks ago Bob asked, "if I were to ask you at some time to marry me would you consider it". I said "if at some time you did that I would consider it", stressing "consider". On Tues. night when we had friends over for dinner, he bowled me over by giving me a "considering ring". I couldn't have been more surprised. It is beautiful and I can't wait to show it off. And yes I am "considering". Stay tuned for picture. I hope you are as happy for me as I am.
Love to all.

Another Green Valley Day

The G.V. gang heard about our "secret ole family recipe" for deep fried halibut. Once again it was a big success.

What a beautiful thought

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they lead.

Sunset in Green Valley

Just one of the many reasons I love living here in Ariz. The sunsets are truly beautiful and cap off days of warmth and sunshine. Hope you all get to see it someday.

Life in the desert

Hi all,
Just another update in the life of a desert rat. Yesterday while cleaning the back courtyard, Bob found a rattle snake curled up taking a snooze in a pile of leaves. I thought he was just messing with one of his buddies when I heard him ask who to call to get rid of a rattler. Silly me!!! After spending so many years living in Alaska I am not used to looking for snakes, but, believe me that has changed. I had been standing almost on top of him and didn't even see him, nor him me. Not sure who would have been the most scared. Anyway, the proper procedure is to call the fire dept. and they will come get them. Stay tuned for more in the life of,

Tombstone, AZ

Hi all. Bob took me along with a couple of his friends from Seattle on a sightseeing trip to Tombstone. It was a lovely day and a nice tour. They were having Old West Days with the shootout and live music and a lot of people dressed in period clothes. It was pretty fun and not so awfully hot. We wondered around town for a while then had lunch before starting home taking the scenic route.

the reason we go to Mexico

Saturday, October 27, 2007

Hi gang,

Latest update. As you probably know we made it to Green Valley on Wed. after a lovely drive from Las Vegas. The weather was warm and sunny, but, quite windy, on trip, but has been just perfect since we got here. Sunny and in 80s and low 90s and no wind. We have been busy getting things in order and settled in and have done some wining and dinning as well. This morning Bob disconnected his old computer and stored it so I have a nice place for mine. While he did that I went to a local parade dedicated to all the volunteers in the area. It has been going on every year for 43 years and is just a hoot. Along with the parade are other fair like events going on like art show at one of the mall parking lot, flower shows, etc. Just good old fashioned fun.

I took a few pictures just to give you some idea of the kind of things they do. Unfortunately, my camera batteries died so I missed the really good stuff, maybe next year. I hope I do this right. There ar
e a few of cars and old tractors for Papa Chet and a school band for the girls.

On the road again

An update of "travels with Grandma". Bob and I left town again on Sat. morning after a wonderful birthday Fri. We were planning to stay the night in Ely, but, we were just ahead of a pretty ugly storm and it was early so we decided to truck it on into Las Vegas. It was real windy, but , otherwise a pretty day after got past Ely. We had seen cars with several inches of snow piled on them headed north which was why we decided to get out of there. Anyway, we made it here with no problem and are going to head on to Green Valley on Wed. morning.
Will keep you all posted.
Love to all.

We are planning on leaving probably this weekend and drive to see Pat for a few days then on to Green Valley. Will keep you all updated. I am very HAPPY.

Hi to all

Hey gang,
Have been busy keeping up with all the blogs and haven't been doing much on my own.

I went out to see Mike again yesterday, no pictures this time. We just visited and stayed in the house out of the heat and wind. Easter and Jacky Jo looking good. Mike has been practicing on his new tractor trying to get proficient enough to hire it out. He has bought a blade to work with, also. He is really getting into it. He is having a great time and loving life.

I went out to dinner with a couple of gal friends last night at an Italian place, maybe Cook and Mel will remember that place we ate at when they were here, Casa Del Amour. Went with Tweet and Margaret. It was great!!!

As some of you may know I will be heading home on the 22nd so will be able to go to birthday party, yippee.

So till then LOVE YOU ALL

While at the LMA we had to take a look at Mike's new tractor. Wasn't sure either one of them remembered how to drive one. Oh silly me!!!

Heading north

Hi all ,
As some of you my know I am getting ready to head up to Las Vegas, plan on leaving as soon as I open my eyes in the morning. It has been real tough staying here, have to remember things like leaving the gate open for the pool guy. What a drag!!! Then there is feeding the cat, work, work, work. Other than that I've done some sight seeing and several trip to Mexico for fun and dentistry. Of course, there is the legion, too. That's always good for some laughs. Having the "girls" over this morning for a last dip in the pool before I leave.
Will try to do better at blogging as I head toward home.
Love ya'll,

Medera Canyon

Hi to one and all. Just wanted to give you an update about my time in Arizona. There are some lovely places here even in the middle of the summer. This canyon is just a few minutes out of Green Valley. When Bob told me he was taking me to a canyon I envisioned a dry hot place with snakes and cacti. What pleasant surprise this was.

He sure worked his tail off clearing the dead branches out of that tree. It sure looks a lot better now.

Down to Cape Cod. What a beautiful place!! Linda, me and our hostess, Helen. What wonderful people, everyone opened their homes to all of us. Who could ask for anything more.

This is Timmy our host. He took the guys out fishing and he caught the only one. A blue fish, sure was tasty. We had great clams and all kinds of goodies, yum yum.

Pat has one of the lures they use. Very strange looking. Maybe that's why he didn't catch any fish. Hmmm
